When the world falls apart and the visible devastation around me keeps popping up in the many reels showing death and destruction I am going to my happy place. Inside of my head resides my inner world. It is the quiet world of the imagination.
The picture is a painting of 40 x 64 inches, oil on linen and was a commission from a friend in Florida. I worked on it while all the storms were raging and found peace and calm amidst the turbulence. Often I create a collage of beautiful memories, landscapes I have seen through my life that struck me because of its beauty.
The world we live in does not only reflect destruction. It is not that I don’t see the bad and the ugly, I just chose to not engage in that what I cannot change. I wish I had the power transform my inner world through collective choices we make into a beautiful reality for everybody. But I cannot. It is the collective karma of action and consequences that create our world. I am only a little part of the collective.
